What We Do
These are some typical services that we provide for our clients. We handle your technology. You handle your business.
Network Design
We determine
where and which network services are needed, including wired,
wireless, and remote network access. We evaluate your wiring,
switches, routers, servers, computers, printers, wireless access
points, and any other hardware, as well as the network operating
system.
Wiring and Infrastructure
Review existing wiring and related infrastructure. Recommend and
make necessary changes.
Build Custom Servers
We build Intel based servers that are configured for their intended
purpose. Our design objectives anticipate meeting requirements for
at least three years without upgrades and with the capability to
increase storage and memory when necessary.
Build Custom Computers
Our computers are Intel based with the same design criteria as the
servers.
Strategic Planning
We develop an Information Technology strategy to support your
overall strategy to the extent that it has been articulated. We can
also facilitate the development of your company’s strategic plan.
Project Management
We bring professional project management skills and methodology to
each major project that we undertake for you.
Facilitation
We help groups reach consensus.
Software Selection
We research and recommend appropriate software for tasks that are
performed on an ongoing basis as well as for special projects.
Application Development
We configure existing general purpose software for specific
customized purposes.
Software Configuration
We install software on network servers and individual computers, as
appropriate for the environment.
Accounting System Configuration
We install accounting software on network servers and individual
computers with appropriate security and access.
Accounting System Conversion
We configure the accounting software, including setting up the chart
of accounts, module configuration, and data migration. We develop
the project plan and the timetable.
Internet Access Configuration
Configuration of router, firewalls, servers, and computers for
access to Internet.
Remote Access Configuration
Same as above.
Remote Monitoring
Receipt and review of daily reports and alerts from your network for
troubleshooting the network. Telephone and email alerts from your
Internet access provider for Internet access problems. Routine and
special system updates. Remote software installation on servers and
computers.
Server Updates
Install automatically downloaded patches as well as optional or
special updates from software vendors.
Computer Updates
Same as above
Install Software
Install new software or major upgrades to existing software on
servers and computers.
End Point Protection
End Point protection refers to protection of servers and computers
on the network from malware. We use a combination of solutions
including a network based antivirus/antimalware solution, a specific
purpose malware elimination product, and backup antivirus and
antimalware solutions for individual computers.
Backup
Various backup processes for key data, including disk to disk and
optical disk storage.
Troubleshoot Server Problems
Resolve software issues, hardware problems, and security issues.
Troubleshoot Computer Problems
Same as above as well as user issues.
Helpdesk Services
We provide telephone and in-person support for individual users
involving training or software usage issues.
Capacity Planning
We constantly monitor server capacity and forecast requirements for
access to computers, printers, and other resources.
Resource Allocation
We match the appropriate hardware and software to the tasks that
need to be performed by users.
Install and Configure Printers
We install and configure printers on the network or on individual
computers as appropriate.
Manage Wireless Access
We install and locate wireless access points to provide wireless
access where it is required. This is complicated by the nature of
the building which tends to limit the range and directions of radio
waves.
Research New Solutions
This involves keeping abreast of appropriate accounting systems,
utilities, and other general purpose and specialized software that
will be necessary in the future or that would resolve problems or
simplify tasks.
Individual Training
We work with individual users to help them learn and use their
computers appropriately and efficiently.
Technical Support for Applications
We help users use specific features, develop reports, or develop
processes.
Configure Data Access
We provide appropriate access to data and we determine where that
data should be stored.
Add New Users
We add new users to the network and configure their access to
network resources and computers.
Manage Network Security
We configure internal and external network security and strive to
restrict inappropriate access.
Remove Malware
Despite best efforts, “human engineering” will occasionally result
in malware being introduced to computers. This is usually the result
of users inadvertently clicking on a link in e-mail or mistyping a
URL when accessing a web site. We take the steps to remove the
ensuing problem.
